Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter. ~ Francis Chantweet
Are your internal auditors successful? Are they successful at the right things?
As leaders, we are responsible for focusing the resources afforded to us on the things that really matter at our companies. In the article I published the week before last, (Where Do We Find Internal Audit Value), I discussed the various value levels we get from the various audit services we provide. It can be very uncomfortable to go out into those “harder to measure” areas. But we should fear “succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter” more than we do trying to succeed at those that do.
